Life/Science/Power/Matter: An Introduction to Science and Technology Studies
Madisson Whitman
Description from DukeHub
Life/Science/Power/Matter invites students to ask big questions about the world and how we know what we know. This course is an introductory dive into science and technology studies and its intersections with religious studies, anthropology, history, sociology, and gender studies. By offering deep historical and contemporary perspectives, this course will equip students with skills and concepts essential to exploring not only longstanding questions about the world but also urgent issues of our time and recognize multiple forms of agency, relations within and outside of belief systems and traditions, and manifestations of power.
