'For the people of God…': Oral Interpretation of Scripture for Christian Worship
Christine Parton
Description from DukeHub
The public reading of Scripture 'for the people of God' has been a significant aspect of Christian worship over centuries. This course will assist students in developing their own working theology of Scripture reading in worship and provide opportunities to embody that theology in their various contexts. Aligned with the lectionary, the course will reflect on the function and potential of oral interpretation in multi-modal explorations of biblical texts for the purpose of sermon preparation. Prerequisite: PREACHNG 758
